Atlantic City Casinos / Banana Leaf Restaurant

went to Atlantic City (seems to be my favourite place to go at this time) again for some sightseeing and shopping because a friend from penn state university had come down to visit me and lam. we were all game for some shopping so we decided to hit the factory outlets there since that was the only factory outlet we could get to on our own easily. i think i've more or less showed you guys the pics of the outlet shopping area. but here's some pictures of ceasar's casino/hotel. sorry folks but no indoor photography as its not allowed.

pretty nice architechture of the statues on the building. reminds me of cingular's slogan 'raising the bar'.

kinda cheesy i must admit but i guess this is the casino's theme: fantasy?

After all that shopping (will try to take photos of the stuff, mainly t-shirts, which i bought and post it up another time), we headed back to Philadelphia for dinner. the girls wanted to try malaysian food (specifically prata), so off we went to banana leaf which just opened some time back.

If any of you wants to migrate to the US and wonder what kind of job you can do, i;d recommend you learn how to make prata and curry before you come. why? because the restaurants in philadelphia (actually there are only 2 places that i know of selling prata), sell 2 pieces for USD3.25. now who says making prata can't get you far?

i just had to take a picture of the toilet coz it looks really interesting. there's woks used for wash basins.

i wonder why there is only 1 urinal in the men's toilet. maybe not expecting many ppl to use it?

another view of the toilet. its actually pretty small but the design is pretty good for a restaurant toilet. i suspect that part of the high price we were paying at the restaurant was because of the toilet.

But get this: the restaurant doesnt accept credit cards. now this is a big question mark because in the US, ppl prefer using their CC instead of cash as it earns them points and more importantly, there is no excess surcharge unlike certain places in Singpore. so to have an establishment like this not accepting CC is a big question mark. interestingly, the other restaurant selling malaysian food also does not accept CC. a malaysian trend?

later on i found out that the reason they do not accept CC is because they can post a smaller revenue every financial year when it comes to paying taxes and effectively they can pay little or no tax at all. smart move? well its kinda hard to calculate coz not accpeting CC in the first place turns away a lot of customers.
